This month marks 10 years of Instant Grativacation. A site that was born out of a fever dream and a spontaneous trip to Vegas between two friends. All the world felt so big then and we had something we wanted to say about it. Sometimes it was funny, other times it was silly, and there were even moments of poignancy.
There were always intentions, but this site has never followed any particular path. It has been meandering, unstructured and sporadic. But it has also bore witness to a life spent searching for connection and experiences of all kinds.
I don’t know if I could have predicted 10 years ago what it would mean to have these moments documented. To remember the details that have become broad strokes with time. But I am happy to have them, even if some of my earlier writings cause me to wince.
We live in bits and pieces, which can make it hard to see the entire picture when you are in the middle of it. But in reflecting on the summation of the last 10 years, I was able to see that even in enduring the ebbs and flows of life that what this time has been is a thrill.
Thank you to everyone who has come on this journey with me. Below are 10 articles from the last decade that either were pieces of writing that I enjoyed re-reading or were particular fond memories. (Click on the title to read.)
